Zondoma: The skills of 40 young people strengthened in solar energy

As part of the Community Project for the Recovery and Stabilization of the Sahel (PCRSS-Burkina), 40 young people including 13 girls and 27 boys from the Northern Region benefited from training in photovoltaic energy. The ceremony marking the end of this training took place this Monday, June 10, 2024 at the headquarters of the Association Monde Rural (AMR) in Gourcy.

Placed under the presidency of the prefect President of the Special Delegation of the commune of Gourcy, Bosso Kaba Toé Téré, the ceremony marking the end of the training of 40 young people from the Northern Region on photovoltaic systems, took place on Monday 10 June 2024 at the Association’s headquarters in Gourcy.

It was attended by the Presidents of the Special Delegations of the communities benefiting from the project, the Head of the Regional PCRSS branch in the North Polycarpe Naré, customary and religious notables and many other guests.

For the trainer Issa Yabré, this training which took place from May 31 to June 10, 2024 is a second
phase which consisted of maintaining the systems installed in the AMR premises on the one hand and on the other hand to reinforce what you have learned from the first session through practical exercises.

Through the voice of Balguissa Porgo, the participants showed their gratitude to the initiators of this training which, according to her, is of capital importance for them.

‘We are committed to investing the knowledge received in the field of solar energy for the development of rural areas and the fight against global warming,’ she declared.

‘Don’t be satisfied with the certificates received. Get to work because this is the best way to capitalize on your acquired knowledge,’ advised the branch manager who, moreover, expressed his satisfaction with this activity carried out by the AMR thanks to the support of the PCRSS.

By presenting certificates to the participants, the director of associative life of the AMR Abdoulaye Savadogo urged them to be useful to themselves and also to the entire community through
the quality of their services.

‘Dear young people, your presence here today is proof of your commitment, your determination and your desire to participate in the development of our communities. By training in photovoltaic technologies, you are now key players in sustainable development in our communities,’ declared the president of the session addressing the young people.

At the end of the ceremony, the guests were able to see first-hand the work carried out by the learners during the 10 days of learning.

As a reminder, the PCRSS aims, among other things, to strengthen the resilience of populations in areas affected by the security crisis.
