_: Officials of the Burkinabè National Lottery (LONAB) presented on Friday March 15, 2024 in Dédougou, a check for 91,718,500 FCFA to Aoubérè Somda, a lucky winner.
The circle of millionaires has grown in the town of Dédougou. We must now reckon with Aoubérè Somda who has just won the jackpot of 91,718,500 FCFA from the Urban Pari Mutuel, a first since the opening of the Burkinabè National Lottery agency (LONAB) in Dédougou.
The check presentation ceremony took place on Friday March 15, 2024 in the presence of officials from the Nationale des jeux and the region’s authorities.
Indeed, it should be remembered, the lucky winner, Aoubérè Somda, a 36-year-old electrician, is a regular at Pari Mutuel Urbaine Burkinabè (PMU’B) and has won prizes several times.
‘Since I was very young, I played at PMU’B. It wasn’t easy with my family. The biggest prize I have ever had is 2.8 million FCFA,’ he said.
But this February 29, 2024 will mark a decisive turning point in the life of Mr. Somda. Today, as usual, he will b
et 16,800 F in a combination of eight horses.
When the games stopped, he remembers, he was informed by a friend that he had made the right choice. He is the only winner in order, but must glean some bonuses along the way. This is the cumulative amount of his winnings which amounts to 91,718,500 FCFA. With a check in his pocket and a smile on his face, he doesn’t intend to waste his money.
‘I had projects in mind. Being an electrician, logic would dictate that I create my own business. The company itself existed, I still had a few papers to formalize it. With this money, things will get better,’ he said.
The representative of the general director of LONAB, Léandre Kanikehi, in congratulating the elected official of the day, expressed his satisfaction with the holding of such a ceremony consisting of awarding a jackpot.
In accordance with its slogan, he recalled ‘the prizes for the lucky winners, the profits in Faso’, LONAB sows joy in hearts every day by making happy winners.
He praised the trust that the
population of Boucle du Mouhoun places in his company through its various games and said he hoped to return very soon to magnify even more opportunities.
‘To the driving forces of the region, to all those who want to transform their dream into reality, do like Mr. Somda because LONAB works for the development of the population,’ he said.
But he warned, his company is a civic structure, and he invites us to play responsibly. He recalled that since the beginning of this year, PMU’B has already made discounts of more than 650 million.
And to prevent their money from being wasted, noted the representative of the DG, the winners are directed towards the supporting financial structures and the Chamber of Commerce so that they are better supervised.
