The Muslim faithful of Houndé, the capital of the Tuy province, celebrated the festival of Eid El Kebir this Sunday, June 16, 2024.

On the occasion, they performed the big prayer at several public places in the city.

The faithful gathered at the ‘A’ primary school in Houndé prayed under the leadership of Imam Cheik Sidi Mohamed Sana.

Imam Sana suggests that Eid el Kebir is a blessed day for Muslims.

According to him, during the celebration, the faithful prayed for the return of peace and stability to Burkina Faso.

‘We prayed to Allah for peace to return to Burkina Faso and to help our authorities lead the country to stability,’ he declared.

The ceremony was marked by the presence of administrative and municipal authorities. The High Commissioner of Tuy, Issiaka Segda said he came
to commune with the faithful Muslim.

‘We came to greet them and pray with them so that there is cohesion and peace in our country,’ explained Mr. Segda. The High Commissioner also urged the Muslim faithful to always ask God in their prayers for peace to reign in Burkina Faso.

While wishing a ‘very happy Tabaski celebration’ to the faithful Muslim, the provincial authority invited them to celebrate with piety and sobriety given the still worrying security context.
