Tuy: 1,320 candidates in the running for the baccalaureate

The High Commissioner of the Tuy province, Issiaka Segda gave, this Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in Houndé, the starting point for the written baccalaureate exams, session 2024. It is at Houndé municipal high school that the envelope containing the first test was opened.

Candidates for the baccalaureate, session 2024, from the province of Tuy, like other candidates from Burkina Faso, began the written tests this Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Out of 1,320 registered candidates, there are 743 (291 girls and 452 boys) from series D and 577 (330 girls and 247 boys) from series A. They compose in 5 juries located in the communes of Houndé, Founzan and Koumbia.

The High Commissioner, Issiaka Segda, at the head of an administrative delegation, gave the start of the exam to jury 419 located at the municipal high school of Houndé. The envelope containing the first test was opened in room no. 7 made up of series D candidates. But before, the first person in charge of the province sent words of encouragement to the candidates. “W
e came on the one hand to encourage you and on the other hand to encourage your teachers who gave you the basics to face the exam”. He reassured the candidates that they are seasoned to face the tests in view of the work they have done in class during the school year with their teachers. The High Commissioner also advised them not to be afraid because the tests will be within their reach. Mr. Segda wished the candidates good luck while hoping that his province achieves a 100% success rate and comes first among the provinces which form the Hauts-Bassins region.

The provincial director of post-primary and secondary education (DPEPS) of Tuy, HSté Sankara, suggested that the organization of activities has so far been going without any particular problem. For the current baccalaureate session, the province of Tuy recorded a drop in the number of candidates compared to last year which was 1,511 candidates. According to the DPEPS, this drop is mainly explained by the security situation. You also have other establi
shments like those of Béréba and Boni where the numbers are very low. >> he explained. Mr. Sankara congratulated all the actors who have held the baccalaureate organization activities to date. However, he encourages them and urges them to be vigilant and rigorous for the smooth running of the exam itself.

The results of the first round are expected on Thursday June 27, 2024.
