The regional director of taxes for the Center-East, Nicolas Somé, on Friday in Tenkodogo, during the kick-off of the 35th international tour of Faso, invited the population to pay their taxes, a civic act, for the development of Burkina Faso.
The tax inspector and regional director of taxes for the Centre-East, Nicola Somé, who was speaking at the end of the first stage of the Tour du Faso, indicated that “taxes are there to invite economic operators, the populations, to pay their taxes because it is with these taxes that we build the country.”
For him, “people should no longer be afraid of taxes. We organize tax collection to accelerate economic and social development.” The means used to achieve the objectives are awareness raising, open days, etc.
According to the DR of taxes, themes such as new procedures, adhesion to the teleprocedure, e-stamp, local taxes and state taxes, will be addressed throughout this 35th Tour du Faso.
Mr. Somé said that “paying taxes is a civic act.” He also called on “civil se
rvants to pay local taxes, personal taxes, residence tax and motor vehicle taxes for those who have vehicles.”
The General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) is truly mobilized to better explain the merits of fiscal civic-mindedness to the population. It sponsored the sash of the best young Burkinabe in the Tourd u Faso.
