Ouagadougou: The Burkinabè dailies on Tuesday widely commented on the arrival of Malian President Assimi Goïta in Burkina Faso as part of a friendship and working visit.

‘Burkina Faso-Republic of Mali: President Assimi Goïta expected today in Ouagadougou,’ reads the front page of the public newspaper Sidwaya.

The state daily specifies that according to the communications department of the Presidency of Faso, the President of the Republic, Colonel Assimi Goïta will stay this Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in Ouagadougou, as part of a friendship visit and of work.

In the same vein, the dean of Burkinabè private newspapers, L’Observateur Paalga underlines that the Malian host and his Burkinabè counterpart, Captain Ibrahim Traoré will discuss, among other things, the challenges of the fight against terrorism and those linked to socio-economic development .

The colleague maintains that the discussions will also focus on the quest for total sovereignty of their respective countries.

The private newspaper Le Pays, for
its part, adds that this meeting of the two heads of state of the member countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (ARS) will also be an opportunity to strengthen the Alliance for the happiness of the Burkinabè peoples. , Malians and Nigeriens.

On another aspect, the same private daily headlines: ‘Case L’EVENEMENT AGAINST ADAMA SIGUIRE: The file postponed until July 29’.

The newspaper reports that ‘the trial between the emblematic support of the Transition of the captain, Ibrahim Traoré, and Adama Siguiré, the professional writer, should be held yesterday Monday at the Ouaga I High Court’.

According to him, the different parties agreed to postpone the file until July 29.

In this regard, L’Observateur Paalga reveals that “this postponement will allow the civil party’s counsel to take note of a document that the defense has reserved for today’s hearing.”
