Ouagadougou: This Wednesday’s publications focus on the working and friendship visit of the President of the Republic of Mali, Assimi Goïta to Burkina Faso.
‘Mali/Burkina: Goïta and his alter ego’, displays on its headline the oldest private daily newspaper in Burkina Faso, L’Observateur Paalga.
In its ‘Looking at the news’ section, the private newspaper informs that since coming to power in 2020, the Malian president is on his second official outing to Ouagadougou, after that of Saint Petersburg in Russia in July 2023.
According to him, this friendship and work visit aims to revisit the excellent cooperative relationship that exists between Burkina Faso and the Republic of Mali.
In the same dynamic, the state daily Sidwaya maintains that President Assimi Goïta welcomes the ties of fraternity and good neighborliness between the two States.
As for the private newspaper, L’Express du Faso, published in Bobo Dioulasso, it reports on its first page the words of Colonel Goïta: “We have taken a path of no retu
rn, let that be clear.”
For the Bobolais daily, the Malian president clarified that Mali and Burkina Faso have a common destiny and this is why the two countries decided to pool their efforts in the fight against terrorism.
The newspaper Le Pays, for its part, indicates that the discussions between Captain Ibrahim Traoré and his host focused on bilateral cooperation, security and development issues.
The colleague also points out that according to the Malian president, relations between his country and Burkina have strengthened in 2022, with the arrival of Captain Ibrahim Traoré to power.
