The Stallions in the round of 16 of CAN 2023 widely commented on by the Burkinabè press


Burkinabè newspapers look back on the qualification of the Stallions in the round of 16 of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (CAN) which is currently being played in Côte d’Ivoire, without forgetting the appointment of senior council advisors of communication (CSC).

The private newspaper, presenting the list of 9 new members of the Superior Council of Communication (CSC), on its front page, indicated that their appointment was made yesterday Wednesday in Ouagadougou, during the traditional meeting of ministers.

The private newspaper Le Pays, for its part, maintains that the new CSC advisors are known.

As for the state daily Sidwaya, it reports on a new guide for the maturation of projects adopted during ministerial discussions.

Under another aspect, the same public newspaper Sidwaya headlines: ‘Round of 16 Mali vs Burkina: A reunion, 20 years later’.

ding to him, Mali and Burkina Faso will play the round of 16 of CAN 2023 on January 30, with the aim of qualifying for the quarter-finals.

The dean of Burkina Faso’s private newspapers, LObservateur Paalga, specifies that since yesterday Wednesday, the teams qualified for the round of 16 of the 34th CAN have been known.

The private daily Le Pays, for its part, comments on the words of a Burkinabè supporter in the person of Justin Bonkoungou who declares that the Stallions are to be congratulated.

On the other hand, the colleague indicates that the trader Mahoumoud Ouédraogo deplored the meeting of the Stallions with the Palancas Negras of Angola in these terms: ‘We are disappointed with the performance of the Stallions’.
