The Ouargaye health district held its first 2024 session of the provincial epidemic management committee on Monday July 15 in Tenkodogo, noted an AIB journalist.

This session was chaired by the High Commissioner of the Koulpélogo province Ousmane Ouattara who saw all the actors involved in the fight against epidemics discuss epidemiological surveillance. According to the various stakeholders, during this semester, the district reported suspected cases of measles, dengue fever, acute flaccid paralysis, etc.

An update on the situation of the ongoing major catch-up vaccination campaign was also given and according to officials, after three days of implementation, the results are satisfactory. After all these discussions, recommendations were made, including the development of an epidemic preparedness and response plan and the holding of public awareness activities on respecting the vaccination schedule, event-based surveillance, diseases with epidemic potential, vector control.
