The Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Roland Somda, received in audience on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, a delegation from the organizing committee of the first summer university of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

The delegation, led by the president of the organizing committee Mr. Ibrahim Belem, came to present to the minister the progress of the preparations for the first AES summer university scheduled for September 25 to 27, 2024 in Ziniaré. The members of the delegation took the opportunity to gather the orientations and advice of Minister Somda, as president of the activity that will bring together the young people of the AES space.

“The first AES summer university is an activity whose objective is to create a framework for exchange between young people on the one hand and on the other hand, between young people and the authorities of the confederation,” said the president of the organizing committee, Mr. Ibrahim BELLEM.

This activity, organized by the Cercle d’Action pour le Développe
ment Économique et social (CADES), will bring together in Ziniaré in the Plateau-Central region, more than 200 young people and personalities from the 3 AES countries: Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.

“We are very satisfied because the Minister reassured us that he managed to convince his counterparts from Mali and Niger to be the co-presidents of the first summer university of the AES, which is very dear to us. We had the privilege of meeting a minister who is committed and available for the cause of Burkinabe youth and the AES zone in general,” confided Ibrahim Belem, also Secretary in Charge of Budget and Finance of CADES-BF, as he left the audience.
