As a reminder, the academic palms are intended to reward individuals and legal entities who have distinguished themselves in the field of education in Burkina Faso.

The Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Prof. Adjima Thiombiano, recalled that World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity for the government to recognize and salute the merit and crucial role played by the educational community in the training of children, especially in this context of security crisis in Burkina Faso.

Referring to the book Educate or Perish by Professor Joseph Ki-Zerbo, the minister stressed that “education is a function of reproduction and social improvement essential to the progress of any country.”

According to him, despite the difficult context, several teachers have braved and continue to brave challenges, some paying with their
