The ILO intends to support Burkina Faso in promoting social dialogue

Ouagadougou: The new director of the regional office of the International Labor Organization (ILO), based in Abidjan, Ndeye Comba Diop affirmed, on Tuesday, the availability of her institution to support the Burkinabè government in its fight for the social well-being of the population.

‘We reiterate our commitment as the ILO to support Burkina Faso in its development objectives and in its fight for the well-being of the Burkinabè,’ argued Ndeye Comba Diop this Tuesday, June 25, 2024, during an audience with Minister of State in charge of Social Protection, Bassolma_Bazié.

Appointed on October 24, 2023, the ILO country director who is in Ouagadougou as part of her tour of the six countries under her administrative jurisdiction (Ivory Coast, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Togo), promised to support the country in terms of expertise.

Burkina Faso’s expectations from the ILO, according to the Director General of Labor, Roland W. Sawadogo, concern the areas of decent work, migration, the fight against chi
ld labor, protection social and the promotion of dialogue.

These concerns will be addressed through technical and financial support for the guidelines defined by the Government, maintained the new director.

She is in Ouagadougou to present herself to the Minister of State and receive his guidance for strengthening collaboration between the ILO and the Burkinabe State.
