This Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the High Commissioner of the province of Ganzourgou, Mrs. Aminata Sorgho/Gouba chaired the raising of colors ceremony marking the start of the first edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and of citizen participation (JEPPC). It was at the Zorgho high commission in the presence of directors and heads of provincial services, customary and religious authorities and association leaders.

In her speech, Madam High Commissioner relayed the poignant message from the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, highlighting the importance and objectives of the JEPPC. These days, established by the government, aim to consolidate the foundations of the Burkinabe nation, strengthen social cohesion and promote living together. They are part of a precise calendar, taking place on March 26 and October 2 each year, for around two weeks, in homage to the key moments of the political commitment of the national hero, President Thomas Sankara. The transitional president under
lined the importance of patriotic commitment and recalled the inspiring examples of the past, such as the rail battle, the promotion of local products, or the popular investment effort. He invited every Burkinabè to take simple but significant actions, ranging from planting trees to contributing to the peace effort, including respecting public property and paying taxes. In a context marked by unprecedented security and humanitarian challenges, the president expressed his gratitude to the defense and security forces as well as volunteers for their dedication in protecting the homeland. For him, these days offer a unique opportunity to encourage self-sacrifice for the well-being of the nation. The rise of colors, the high point of this inaugural ceremony, takes on a particular significance. It recalls the sacrifices of the ancestors for the independence and territorial integrity of Burkina Faso. It also symbolizes unity and resilience in the face of current adversities. This historic day in Zorgho calls every c
itizen to a deep commitment to their homeland. The High Commissioner indicated that a date will be chosen for a health day and calls for strong mobilization for this purpose. Through concrete acts and a spirit of solidarity, the daughters and sons of Ganzourgou are called upon to defend the values of patriotism and citizenship, so that Faso lives, dignified, free and prosperous.
