Ouagadougou: A terrorist attack targeted this Sunday, December 24, 2023 in the morning the Gendarmerie detachment in the rural commune of Gorgadji, Séno province, Sahel region. The terrorist attackers came in large numbers in several vehicles and motorcycles.
This attack was vigorously repelled by the gendarmes and the VDP of the said commune, routing the enemy.
During the fighting, several terrorists were neutralized. Thus, more than ten bodies were abandoned on the spot by the enemy, who, in their flight, took many other bodies.
Significant materials were seized from the hands of the terrorists, including:
– weapons (12.7 machine gun, Kalashnikov rifles, rocket launcher, etc.)
– ammunition and accessories for weapons (charges, magazines, bands)
– motorcycles
– two-way radios
– cell phones
– various other materials
On the side of the Patriotic Fighting Forces, there were a few minor injuries. Furthermore, among the civilian populations, one (01) woman and one (01) child were injured by bullets and
treated by medical personnel. Their state of health is stable.
The search continues with the support of other units and air vectors.
