The CSC wants to strengthen its technical capacities to better regulate social networks in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou, September 17, 2024 (AIB) – The President of the Higher Council of Communication (CSC), Louis Modeste Ouédraogo, indicated on Tuesday that his institution intends to refine its regulatory methods to adapt them to new challenges, in particular the regulation of social networks, through the strengthening of its capacities.

“The new vision of the CSC college of advisors is to achieve ambitious regulation of the media by strengthening its material, technical and human capacities, and also from the point of view of methods of regulating social networks,” declared Louis Modeste Ouédraogo.

The CSC president spoke on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 in Ouagadougou, after his audience with Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachim Kyélem of Tambèla.

According to him, the Prime Minister promised to support the CSC in strengthening the operational capacities of its communication regulation centers.

Ouédraogo also indicated that his delegation had received advice from the Prime Minister in connection with their missions to regulate the media in Burkina Faso, in the context of the fight against terrorism.

Note that Louis Modeste Ouédraogo was appointed president of the CSC by decree No. 2024-0876/PRES of July 31, 2024, and he officially took office on Thursday, August 2, 2024.

He replaces Idrissa Ouédraogo in this position, who resigned after six months in charge.
