Ouagadougou: The President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly, Dr Ousmane Bougouma indicated that Burkinabè in the diaspora can now apply for their Burkinabè nationality certificate anywhere on the globe.
‘We have just launched this process which allows our fellow citizens from inside and outside to apply for a nationality certificate online. This request will be processed, they will be able to pay related fees and receive their nationality certificate online,’ Ousmane Bougouma suggested.
He spoke this Friday, June 7, 2024 in Ouagadougou, during the launch of the delivery of the Burkinabè nationality certificate online.
According to the President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly, the operationalization of the e-certificate of Burkinabè nationality will greatly facilitate the lives of populations, who traveled long distances and spent time and money to acquire it.
‘To have this act our fellow citizens were obliged to travel long distances, causing loss of time and money. They are often forced
to wait several days to receive the document,’ regretted President Ousmane Bougouma.
This act, according to him, is the realization of a collaboration between the ministry in charge of justice and that of digital transition and is part of the government’s policy of dematerializing a certain number of administrative acts.
For him, the digitalization of these documents also makes it possible to have traceability of the documents issued in order to avoid falsification.
In the process, there is a component that takes care of security, he reassured.
Since 2023, several administrative documents have been put online.
These include, among other things, the pay slip for public sector workers, the tax stamp and the criminal record.
