30 best primary, post-primary and secondary students, 10 primary teachers including 2 best were rewarded on Saturday, during a communal day of academic excellence, by the local authorities of Tanghin-Dassouri.
The special delegation of the commune of Tanghin-Dassouri organized on Saturday, October 26, 2024, a communal day of academic excellence within the town hall.
During the said day, the local authorities congratulated and rewarded a total of 30 best primary, post-primary and secondary students, and 10 primary school teachers, including 2 best.
These primary school teachers achieved a 100% rate in the Primary School Certificate (CEP), for the 2024 session in Burkina Faso.
On the occasion, internally displaced students and students with reduced mobility were also rewarded .
Thus, the best primary and post-primary students received bicycles and school kits and those in post-primary secondary schools received laptops.
The teachers who achieved 100% in the CEP received certificates of merit and the two
best teachers each left with a new motorcycle.
For the president of the special delegation (PDS), Rabiata Sawadogo, it is a duty for the municipality to recognize the efforts made by the students and their teachers during the 2023-2024 school year.
“Our students are the next generation of our country. They are the ones who will ensure the continuity of our country’s development. We have a duty to make our contribution to building a peaceful Burkina Faso,” she said.
The PDS said that according to former South African President Nelson Mandela, education is the most powerful weapon to change one’s community.
For this, she confided, additional efforts will still be implemented for the influence of the education system in Tanghin-Dassouri.
“We remain fully committed to doing more. Additional efforts are needed to ensure that every education stakeholder has an environment conducive to growth and success,” said Rabiata Sawadogo.
The winners expressed their gratitude to the special delegation of Tanghin-Dassour
i and pledged to continue the quest for excellence.
‘We are deeply honored by this recognition and are committed to honoring this distinction, continuing to strive to achieve our goals with integrity and passion,’ said the laureates’ representative, Fadilatou Gnessi.
At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the commune of Tanghin-Dassouri recorded an admission rate of 76.92% for the CEP, 52% for the BEPC and 62% for the BAC.
