Subscriptions for popular shareholding have started in the Northern Region


Ouagadougou: The Governor of the Northern Region, Issouf Ouédraogo, officially launched community entrepreneurship underwriting activities on Friday, January 12, 2024 in Ouahigouya. An initiative aimed at generating massive support and mobilization from all the sons and daughters of the region.

It is under the theme ‘Popular shareholding for endogenous and inclusive development’ that the governor of the Northern region, Issouf Ouédraogo, launched, on January 12, 2024, community shareholding subscription activities. According to him, it is an initiative allowing the population of the region to become informed and better understand community entrepreneurship programs.

‘APEC’s mission is part of the vision of endogenous and inclusive development, dear to the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who wishes to finance major projects exclusively with endogenous resources. This development will only be a reality with the involvement and mobilization of all Burkinabè people,’ the governor suggested.

For more than two hours, the first officials of APEC, in collaboration with the cooperative society ‘Building the Future’, discussed the different missions of this initiative.

For the Director General of the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC), Karim Traoré, it was with great satisfaction that they noted the strong mobilization of the population, demonstrating their interest in this action.

‘The Northern region has shown itself motivated to support the presidential initiative of community entrepreneurship. It was time for us to come and bring them the message of mobilization around the initiative so that the region can take its place in the country’s development projects and programs,’ he stressed.

Issouf Ouédraogo, while congratulating the strong mobilization, invited all the sons and daughters of the region to register massively so that this project comes to fruition for the happiness of the population.

As a reminder, it was on June 12, 2023 that the Head of State, Captain Ibra
him Traoré, launched subscription activities in Ouagadougou. Four months later, the foundation stone of the tomato processing factory in Bobo-Dioulasso followed in September 2023.
