The Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr. Robert Kargougou, called on Friday for women in the Center-South to take advantage ‘massively’ of the services offered free of charge through the Center-South mobile clinic equipped with equipment for specialized care such as mammography and ultrasound.

“I would like to make a vibrant appeal to the populations of the Centre-South region, particularly women, so that they can come out en masse each time the mobile clinic is deployed,” said the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr Robert Kargougou, on Friday.

He was speaking on the occasion of the official launch of the activities of the mobile clinic offered to the region by the government.

In July 2024, with a view to improving the provision of health care to the population, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, officially handed over to the health structures of the 13 regions, 15 mobile clinics equipped with equipment for specialized care, particularly in the area of ??sexual and reproductive he
alth for women and girls.

The Minister of Health, who officially launched the activities of the mobile clinic in the Centre-South region, “encouraged the health personnel who are responsible for operating the clinic and ensuring that women benefit free of charge from mammography ultrasound, screening for precancerous lesions of the cervix and their in situ treatment.”

Dr Robert Kargougou also recalled that the launch of the mobile clinic which will crisscross the entire region “is in line with the vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who wants there to be equitable access for ordinary Burkinabe people with regard to quality health care and services.”

The representative of the Center-South women’s coordination, Bintou Zoungrana, welcomed the initiative, specifying that it represents a godsend for all women in the region.

“Before, when we were prescribed a prescription, we had to go to Ouagadougou and we had to have money. But now, this mobile clinic is a chance for us,” she said.

Kassoum N
aaba Ligdi, representing the chief of Manga, Mang Naaba Kiiba II, also expressed the recognition of the customary chieftaincy and the populations to the government and the president of Faso, promising to help, whenever necessary, to mobilize the populations and encourage them to take ownership of the health policies implemented for their benefit.
