Sourou: The Learning and Resilience Improvement Project launched

The High Commissioner of Sourou Province, Désiré Badolo, officially launched on Wednesday June 12, 2024, the activities of the Learning and Resilience Improvement Project (PAARE).

The Learning and Resilience Improvement Project (PAARE) was officially launched on Wednesday June 12, 2024 in Tougan, in the Sourou province, Boucle du Mouhoun region.

This project aims to improve learning and resilience through equitable access to quality education in inclusive and protective safe learning spaces.

The said project is intended for school-age children affected by the security crisis in the Sourou province.

Lasting 2 years (March 2024-February 2026), it will be piloted by the NGO Terre Des Hommes and will directly affect 3,480 girls, 3,212 boys, 63 women and 53 men. The indirect beneficiaries number 17,634 women and 15,021 men.

The activities of ‘PAARE’ will focus, among other things, on the training of actors in child protection in emergency situations, young people on leadership and support for the school cant
een, provision of kits to schools educational and didactic.

The project leader, Vivien Pascal Yonli, requested the support of local authorities, customary and religious leaders and education stakeholders in Sourou for the smooth running of the activities.

As for the first person in charge of the province, Désiré Badolo, he welcomed the intervention of this project in Sourou.

For him, this initiative constitutes a response to the need for education in the province, in a current security and humanitarian context, through the care of displaced students and the training of teaching staff to improve the quality of education. ‘education.

Mr. Badolo reassured those responsible for the project that the authorities will spare no effort to provide substantial support and invited the beneficiaries to take on the activities to which they will be invited.
