Ouagadougou: The party is in full swing in Solenzo, the day of celebration of the Tabaski festival, contrary to rumors spread on social networks suggesting ‘total confusion’ in this town, formerly devastated by terrorist attacks.
On this Tabaski day, the town of Solenzo bathes in its serenity found again thanks to the anti-terrorist actions of the VDP and FDS.
The drinking establishments are teeming with people, music blaring for amateurs while outside, assistant security volunteers (VADS) watch over traffic to limit accidents.
At 5 pm, the streets remained flooded, some going to greet relatives and friends, others returning home for the rest of the celebration.
Children go door to door hoping to get a few coins with the adults whom they greet with ‘sambé-sambé’.
Some young people are busy around ‘tea grinds’ decorated with grills, hearing nightfall.
Inoussa Ouedraogo, a resident of Solenzo found in front of his door, expresses his joy: ‘Before we were not happy but today, really, with the FDS and VDP,
we are happy and we implore God to help them always secure the entire Banwa province.
‘The party is beautiful and thank God we ate and drank well and look on the road you will see that everyone is happy,’ he added.
Information broadcast on the networks indicated that after an attack by VDP, there is ‘total confusion in the town of Solenzo’
According to security sources, there was indeed a battle between the VDP and the terrorists yesterday in the locality of Bonza, but no human or material loss was recorded within the VDP.
