The winners of the 2024 National Culture Week (SNC) from the Eastern region, presented their prizes to the governor of the Eastern region, Ram Joseph Kafando, on Thursday May 30, 2024 in Fada N’ Gourma.
Artists from the Eastern region enjoyed success at the 2024 National Culture Week (NCW).
76 artists from three provinces out of 5 took part in the various competitions in performing arts, culinary and sport and won six (06) prizes which they presented to the governor of the Eastern region, Ram Joseph Kafando, surrounded by his close collaborators.
The artists’ representative, Emmanuel Wango, expressed his gratitude to the authorities of the Eastern region, the local communities and the daughters and sons of Gulmu, who accompanied them in their multiple preparations and during their stay at SNC 2024.
He suggested that the multiple and diverse support they received contributed enormously to their success.
The student from Yembila Abdoulaye Toguyéni University of Fada N’Gourma, Grace Kina, with her two texts
which have a strong link with the theme of SNC 2024, won the 1st national prize in slam and a special prize awarded by the Ministry in charge of Youth and Employment.
‘It’s a feeling of joy that inspires me with these prizes that I have just obtained for my first participation. Obtaining such an award first and foremost honors the Eastern region,’ said Miss Kina.
With this award, the student argued, we want to testify that the sun has risen and still rises in the East.
In the culinary arts, Yentéma Namoano won the 1st national prize plus a special prize with a local menu made from cereals with a sauce made from Guinea fowl.
According to her, this food recipe has many therapeutic virtues such as regulating blood pressure, dizziness and rheumatism.
‘Great are my satisfactions and my joys to receive you with these different prizes. You honor the region. You have shown the world that despite adversity the Eastern region will live and remain standing,’ said the Governor of the Eastern region.

Ram Joseph Kafando invited all the artists to work more for the years to come and hoped that he would have more participation for future SNCs.
