Sissili/Peace effort: COPROSUR supports resettled populations and VDPs with food

The high commissioner of the province of Sissili, Tewendé Isaac Sia and president of the Provincial Emergency Relief Committee (COPROSUR) handed over food and non-food items to Léo on Thursday, May 30, 2024, for the benefit of resettled populations from villages in the rural communes of Silly and Gao, in the provinces of Sissili and Ziro, Center-West region.

The food, consisting of bags of rice, corn, boxes of soap, cans of oil and boxes of omo were received by the high commissioner of the province of Sissili, Tewendé Isaac Sia who is also president of the Provincial Emergency Relief Committee (COPROSUR) .

This donation is intended for the populations and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDD) of the resettled areas of the rural commune of Silly, province of Sissili, of Passin and Yinga, in the rural commune of Gao, in the province of Ziro .

This gesture by the provincial committee follows the resettlement of the populations of the localities concerned.

‘The governor instructed us to see with pa
rtners and goodwill at the provincial and regional level how we can have food and non-food items to support these populations who are in the process of returning to their respective localities,’ indicated the high-ranking official . commissioner of the province of Sissili, Tewendé Isaac Sia.

Mr. Sia said he received rice and corn from the governor of the Center-West to meet the urgent food needs of the population.

The first official of the province also said he was in touch with the general director of the company Wend waoga Nabonswendé (S2WN), Moustapha Souli, who responded favorably to the call for solidarity from the regional authorities.

Tewendé Isaac Sia specified that the company S2WN made available to COPROSUR, 10 bags of rice of 25 kg, 2 cans of oil of 20 liters, 4 boxes of soap, two boxes of omo and an envelope of 200,000 FCFA.

According to him, this donation comes at the right time to support the efforts of the authorities to strengthen the resilience of the populations of the provinces of Sissi
li and Nahouri.

The High Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the donor who always responded to all requests in the province of Sissili.

Mr. Sia then asked for God’s blessings to help those in need.

‘I appeal to the daughters and sons of the province to come to our aid so that we can support our brothers and sisters who are in distress,’ he said.

For the donor, it is a way of making their contribution to the peace effort. Finally, he thanked the local and regional authorities for this great initiative which aims to bring smiles back to vulnerable people.
