Sissili/Culture: The city of Léo welcomes national artistic ensembles

The National Center for Performing and Audiovisual Arts (CENASA) organized on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in Léo, a show of national artistic ensembles under the theme “building resilience and sewing the social fabric”.

According to the organizers, this tour in the Center-West is part of the revival of national artistic groups after several years of lethargy.

This tour aims to contribute to the development of creative cultural industries.

The shows took place on the evening of Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Sissili inn, under the admiring eye of the high commissioner of the Sissili province, Tewindé Isaac Sia and the general director of the National Center for Performing and Audiovisual Arts (CENASA), Abraham Ouésséna Abassagué.

The national orchestra and the national ballet of Burkina amazed the public who made the trip to witness the cultural event.

The Tampani troupe and the artist Dj Arafat from Léo opened the show.

The representative of His Majesty the head of the canton of Léo as the 1st vic
e-president of the special delegation of the commune, Saïdou Yago expressed his gratitude and thanked all those who worked for the holding of this activity in the “city of tubers”.

Mr. Yago also hoped that this regional adventure would be a success for the happiness of the population.

The Chairman and CEO of Zil Telecom International, Lassané Ziba, on behalf of the sponsors, congratulated the organizers for this great initiative.

He also welcomed the choice of the city of Leo, capital of the province of Sissili, as the pioneer city for the launch of this regional tour of national artistic groups.

Mr. Ziba said he was convinced that culture is an essential link that unites the daughters and sons of the same locality.

The High Commissioner of the province of Sissili, Tewindé Isaac Sia indicated that the theme of this cultural meeting is evocative.

“Culture is a powerful lever for promoting social cohesion but also challenges us on individual and collective responsibility in the construction of a peaceful
Burkina, a guarantee of sustainable development,” he noted.

Mr. Sia also praised the vision of the highest authorities to reposition Burkinabe culture beyond the national territory.

He said he was available to support this dynamic which will undoubtedly contribute to the affirmation of our cultural identity.

Certificates of recognition were awarded to personalities for their commitment to promoting culture.
