The Burkinabe Minister in charge of Handicrafts, Serge Poda, expressed, yesterday Saturday, the gratitude of the Burkinabe people to the delegation of the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) present in Ouagadougou as part of the 17th edition of SIAO.
“The Burkinabe people express their gratitude to you for your presence at this important moment for African crafts here in Ouagadougou,” declared the Minister of Commerce and Crafts, Serge Poda.
The Minister of Handicrafts spoke on Saturday, October 26, 2024 in Ouagadougou, during a gala dinner.
“Your respective presences here further demonstrate the importance that you attach not only to the economy of African countries, but also to fraternity and friendship with the Burkinabe people,” added the minister.
During their stay, the OAPI administrators discussed the issue of the contribution of industrial designs to the strengthening and development of crafts in UEMOA member countries.

rs, Mr. Poda wished his guests a safe return to their respective countries.
He also took the opportunity to make a special mention to Mali and Niger who honored the event with strong delegations of artisans and experts at this African crafts meeting.
The 17th edition of the Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair (SIAO), which began on October 25, 2024, will run until November 3, 2024 in the Burkinabe capital.
