Ouagadougou: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia , Sergei Lavrov , announced Wednesday that his country will increase the number of military instructors in Burkina Faso with a view to increasing the operational capabilities of the fighting forces Burkinabè.
‘ We are going to increase the number of instructors who work here and who help you train your specialists,’ indicated the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday June 5 , 2024 during his visit to Ouagadougou.
Sergei Lavrov , who spoke at a press conference with his Burkinabe counterpart, indicated that this action aims to increase the firepower of the defense and security forces of Burkina as part of the fight against terrorism .
Concerned by the security situation in the sub-region, Minister Lavrov assured that military collaboration between the two countries will contribute to definitively eradicating terrorism in Burkina Faso .

The Minister of Foreign Affairs , before this exchange with the press , had an audience with the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré in the morning.
Lavrov is currently touring several African countries. He arrived in Burkina Faso last night from Congo.
