Rural radio: The memorable voice ‘Runda tond bé yè?’ “turned off

Noregma Boukari Alexis Thélesphore Bagré (75 years old), whose famous phrase ‘Runda tond bé yè? » rocked many listeners of Rural Radio, died this Friday in Ouagadougou, the AIB learned.

Noregma Boukari Alexis Thélesphore Bagré died on June 7, 2024 in Ouagadougou.

A journalist by training, the illustrious deceased served the Burkinabè administration in different positions.

First a presenter on rural radio, he was noted for his famous introductory phrase ‘Runda tond bé yè?’ to ask the populations who hosted the program ‘Burkinavarieties’, to specify the name of their locality before the program takes place.

‘Burkina varieties’ is an awareness and discovery program for which Rural Radio agents traveled throughout Burkina Faso to both allow populations in the most remote areas to express themselves on major social issues but also allow listeners to discover other regions of the country.

Alexis T Bagré also served as Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Information.

He was also a member of the Coun
cil of Burkinabè Orders and director of Rural Radio

Elected mayor of the commune of Boussé for the first time in 2000, he succeeded himself for a second term from 2006 to 2012.

We will remember him as an available man committed to socio-economic development and attached to his hometown.

Even diminished by the weight of age, he made the effort to respond as best he could to social events in his community as well as to requests from public services.

His last public appearance was on December 16, 2023 at the Boussé A school, during the excellence awards ceremony organized by the Provincial Directorate in charge of Primary and Non-Formal Preschool Education in Kourwéogo.

He was married and the father of five children.
