The High Commissioner of the Loroum province, Captain Djibril Bassolé, spoke on Friday March 22, 2024 in Ouahigouya, with the directors and heads of provincial services on the presence of the administration among the populations.

High Commissioner Djibril Bassolé invited the directors and heads of service to propose solutions for an administrative presence among the populations of Titao, during a service meeting on Friday March 22, 2024.

Service managers were invited to report on the functioning of their provincial, departmental and municipal services.

To broaden the scope of proposed solutions, this meeting was open to customary and religious leaders as well as NGOs and associations operating in the province.

While recognizing the problems linked to insecurity in the province, the High Commissioner indicated that this meeting will allow Loroum stakeholders to better understand the realities of the province.

Before starting the meeting, the participants observed a minute of silence in memory of all the m
artyrs who fell following terrorist acts.

They also praised the efforts of the defense and security forces in reconquering the territory.

According to the provincial director of social action, national solidarity and humanitarian action of Loroum, Daouda Derra, the number of internally displaced people in the town of Titao is 73,978 people.

These displaced populations need a greater presence of basic social services.

Difficulties in accessing the locality have led several NGOs to relocate their activities to other northern provinces.

The discussions also focused on the organization of supply convoys to serve Sollé, Bahn and Titao, the asphalting of the Titao-Djibo road, the resumption of the school in Titao and the establishment of local dialogue committees to the restoration of peace.

To promote social cohesion, Djibril Bassolé invited the presidents of special delegations to organize spaces for accountability.

As a reminder, the increase in terrorist attacks in December 2021 caused the relocation of
the administration to Ouahigouya. Only the Urban CSPS and education maintained a minimum service.
