Brazilian striker of Spain’s Real Madrid Vinicius is named the best football player in the Champions League for the 2023/24 season, the press service of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) reported.
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has been named best young player. Besides Vinicius and Bellingham, the symbolic Champions League squad included goalkeeper Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund), defenders Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rdiger (both Real Madrid), Mats Hummels, Ian Maatsen (both Borussia), midfielders Vitinha (PSG), Marcel Sabitzer ( Borussia), attackers Harry Kane (Bayern) and Phil Foden (Manchester City).
Real Madrid won the Champions League for the 15th time, beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the final. Carvajal and Vinicius have scored goals for Real Madrid.
Vinicius is 23 years old. He has been playing for Real since 2018. With the Spanish team he became three times champion of Spain, once winner of the National Cup and twice of the Super Cup, as well as double winner of the Champions
League. In total, the Brazilian made 264 appearances for Real, scoring 83 goals and making 75 assists.
