Peace Effort: The women of Yatenga offer 3 million to the FDS and VDP

Ouagadougou: On the initiative of Hadja Fati Ouédraogo, former member of the National Assembly and the coordination of women’s associations in the province of Yatenga, a check for 3 million was given on Friday June 14 to the governor of the Northern region Issouf Ouédraogo as a contribution to the peace effort noted an AIB journalist.

It was a ceremony chaired by the governor of the Northern region, Issouf Ouédraogo, that this check presentation as a contribution to the surge of patriotism of the women and girls of Yatenga took place this Friday, June 14, 2024. In the presence of different coordinations of women of the province, constituted bodies and media of the region, the activity was punctuated by interventions, prayers of the different religious communities, blessings for a return of peace to Yatenga in the North and to Burkina Faso.

The women of Yatenga, through the voice of Bibata Ouédraogo/Nikièma, expressed their joy and pride which drives them all. ‘The initiative which was launched since Februar
y 2024 by Hadja Fati Ouédraogo has seen the support of all women’s associative structures and the result of the collection is concrete proof of the desire of women to come in support of the FDS and VDP who fight in the theater of operations for the reconquest of the territory. Our prayers and blessings accompany our brave fighters,’ said the Yatenga provincial women’s coordinator during the ceremony.

Receiving this check for three million (3,000,000 FCFA), the regional authority initially congratulated their spirit of unity and synergy of actions.

‘By mobilizing all the female populations of the villages and sectors of the province to support the dynamic of sovereignty underway, you are responding to the call of our warlord President Ibrahim Traoré, proof of your attachment to common construction, participatory, inclusive and sovereign of Burkina Faso’ indicated the Governor of the Northern region.
