As part of the national days of patriotic commitment, the commune of Koudougou offered on October 24, 2024, to vulnerable people, among others, 18 tons of food and a sum of 3,600,000 CFA francs.
The commune of Koudougou celebrated, on Thursday, October 24, 2024, a day of solidarity in favor of people in difficult situations, in particular the widows and orphans of the FDS and VDP who fell at the front, internally displaced persons (IDPs), internally displaced students, without forgetting other vulnerable people.
This day of solidarity, held within the Koudougou town hall, saw the presence of many personalities, including the Minister of State, Bassolma Bazié, the Grand Chancellor of the Burkinabe Orders, Brigadier General Pingrenoma Zagré, as well as the regional authorities of the Centre-West.
Welcoming his guests, the president of the special delegation of the commune of Koudougou, Jonas Mané, indicated that this day is part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment, launched by the Head of State.
According to him, it is quite natural that the commune of Koudougou plays its part, given the significant number of vulnerable people and those in difficult situations that the town has been welcoming for some time.
He also expressed his gratitude to the people of goodwill who worked alongside the town hall to strengthen and support this day with various donations in kind and in cash: 12 tons of rice, 6 tons of corn, 150 boxes of pasta, 120 5-liter cans of oil, 100 boxes of soap, and the sum of 3,600,000 CFA francs.
These donations were distributed among the beneficiaries of the day, who expressed their gratitude for this generosity. Their spokesperson, Charlotte Konaté/Toé, expressed the gratitude of all the beneficiaries for this benevolent initiative that warms their hearts.
In the same spirit, public utility structures working in the social field also benefited from this day of solidarity.
These are the YIK NKIENIN Rehabilitation Center, PROMACEL, the Koudougou Detention and Correction Center (MACK),
as well as the Laafi health mutual.
It should be noted that the latter received 500,000 CFA francs, while internally displaced students from Norbert Zongo University received 600,000 CFA francs for health coverage from the mutual health insurance fund.
The two sponsors, Emmanuel Tapsoba, CEO of Golden Hand SA, and Marc Zongo, economic operator, reiterated their availability to support such initiatives, which, according to them, demonstrate the patriotic spirit of the Burkinabè, united in the face of current challenges.
The Minister of State, Bassolma Bazié, welcomed this initiative of the commune of Koudougou, hoping that it would inspire other localities to follow suit.
He took the opportunity to invite the Burkinabe to remain honest patriots and to always join hands to jointly address the challenges facing the country. I look forward to the country of honest men finding peace again and being able to devote itself serenely to its development
