The Notre Dame du Rosaire choir of the Saint Charles de Lwanga parish of Wayalgin (Ouagadougou) celebrated its 25th anniversary on Sunday during a thanksgiving mass. .

During this thanksgiving mass dedicated to the silver jubilee of the choir of our lady of the rosary of Wayalgin, this choir of around a hundred members showed its joy through songs of praise and dance steps.

Placed under the sign of union, it was also an opportunity, according to the president of the organizing committee, Cyrille Segda, to mark a stop to give thanks to God and pay tribute to the pioneers of this choir.

He explained that this quarter of a century has not been a long, quiet river because, he said, there have been ups and downs, while specifying that in each journey God’s help was present.

Cyrille Segda expressed the choir’s gratitude to the entire community and recommends it to their prayers.

The celebrant priest also parish priest of Saint Charles de Lwanga de Wayalgin, Silvère Yaméogo, took the opportunity to explain the meaning and importance of a jubilee.

“The jubilee has a special and important character in the church because it allows for a remission of sins and a new beginning,” he said.

It is also an opportunity for forgiveness of debts and sins and reconciliation between Christ and his church and the members among themselves, continued Father Silvère Yaméogo

He recalled the “important” mission of the choir in Eucharistic celebrations.

“The choir helps the people to pray with songs for the glory of God,” said Father Silvère Yaméogo.

While giving thanks to God with and for the choir, he invites it to union and advises it to part with all glory and to work for the glory of God.

For Naaba Sanem from Ziniaré, also representing godfathers, the presence of other religious faiths during this jubilee must be a lesson in tolerance and unity in order to make Burkina Faso a haven of peace.

The Notre Dame du Rosaire choir was created in 1998 by catechist Jean Pierre Bancé with six catechumens.
