Ouagadougou: The Head of State, Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani received, early in the afternoon of Thursday July 25, 2024, the Directors General of Customs of the AES confederation and the Commissioner General of the Togolese Revenue Office.

The latter are in Niamey as part of the first meeting of the Directors General of Customs of the AES confederation, in accordance with the guidelines given by the Heads of State of the AES during the 1st Summit held on July 6 in Niamey.

‘I think we must start by expressing our satisfaction and our pride, because it is truly an honor for us to be received by the president after having been received by the Prime Minister,’ indicated the Director General of Customs from Mali, inspector Amadou Konaté.

He continued by indicating that they had come to report to the President of the CNSP on the work they had held over the past few days in Niamey.

‘These are two major activities, the first relates to the interconnection of customs systems between our different countri
es, an activity which began before the AES, but which accelerated with the confederation of the “AES”, specified Inspector Konaté according to whom “the second relates to the fact that customs and the Togolese Revenue Office measure the issues linked to the exit of AES countries from ECOWAS”.

‘By measuring these issues, it was for us very quickly, in accordance with the guidelines given by the various Heads of State, to work together to harmonize our positions and move in the direction of the guidelines,’ added the Director General of Customs of Mali .

‘On behalf of the directors general and the commissioner general, we can only thank the president for granting us this honor,’ he concluded.

Note that this audience took place in the presence of the Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the President, the Advisor in charge of diplomatic and strategic issues and the one in charge of financial issues of the President of the CNSP.
