Niger inaugurates a sports and culture palace in Dosso, costing 127 million FCFA


Ouagadougou: The Nigerien authorities inaugurated this Wednesday in Dosso (130 km southeast of Niamey), the Olympafrica center in Dosso, a sports and culture palace with a construction cost of 127 million FCFA, according to the Nigerien Press Agency

The Nigerien Minister of Youth, Culture, Arts and Sports, Colonel-Major Abdourahamane Amadou, inaugurated the Olympafrica center in Dosso, a border region between Benin and Nigeria, during a ceremony marked by traditional wrestling demonstrations. , taekwondo, etc.

Established over an area of 8 hectares, the center includes a football field, an athletics track, a multi-purpose arena, a large room for indoor sports and shows, and changing rooms. It also has a space reserved for market gardening and off-season crops, among others.

The mayor of the urban commune of Dosso, Abdou Madougou recalled that it is since November 28, 2021 that the Olympafrica flame has been lit in his commune, lit in Dosso in front of a crowd full of hope. This flame, he said, illuminates
the sky more than ever in the Dosso region, reports the ANP.
