Like other regions of the country, the first edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), was launched at the regional level on March 26, 2024 in Banfora, by the Governor of the Cascades region, Florent Badabouè Bazié.

From seven o’clock, the courtyard of the governorate was crowded with people. It was the Governor’s residence that ultimately served as a parking lot for motor vehicles.

Rising colors supported by the Dytanié sung in heart and in unison, repetition of the address of the Head of State and information given by the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) were the times strong from the launching ceremony of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC).

In his message, the Governor of the Cascades region, Florent Badabouè Bazié recalled the objective of these days which is to consolidate the Burkinabe nation and strengthen the social fabric and living together.

These days take place from March 26 to O
ctober 2 each year for fifteen days.

The President invited each Burkinabè to take simple actions such as planting a tree at each happy event, contributing to the peace effort, getting involved as a VDP, paying their taxes, protecting and respecting public property, respecting the code of the road and consuming local dishes and products.

‘The choice of the first date refers to the political commitment of our nation’s hero, President Thomas Sankara, then Prime Minister, when he delivered one of his historic speeches, ‘Who are the enemies of the people? », March 26, 1983.

As for the second, October 2, 1983, is the day he delivered the Political Orientation Speech (DOP) of the Democratic and Popular Revolution,’ he indicated.

The first manager of the Cascades region estimated that the region’s active forces have ‘understood the message and are committed’ given the ‘strong mobilization’ they have shown.

Florent Badabouè Bazié invited populations to take actions that contribute to the affirmation of our sovere
ignty, in particular ‘to consume what we produce and produce what we consume; to subscribe massively to APEC and finally to go out massively during these days to clean up our living environment.

A mama-mama operation is planned for next weekend in all municipalities in the region,’ declared the Governor.
