Namentenga: The High Commissioner of the province carries out a field visit to strengthen the resilience of the resettled villages

The High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga, made a trip on Thursday, October 17, 2024, with the provincial directors or heads of services, to the resettled villages of Boala and Bonam to strengthen the resilience of these resettled populations and to note the effectiveness of the functioning of the services.

“Our joy is indescribable to see you by our side, after our resettlement by the fighting forces,” said one of the people resettled in the Bonam village, Hado Sawadogo.

From the health and social promotion center (CSPS) through the inspection of the Basic Education District (CEB), the primary school, the departmental high school of Boala and Bonam, the meeting with the populations of Boala and Bonam, the scenario was the same.

The High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga, in the presence of provincial directors and heads of services, praised the resilience of the populations of the resettled villages.

The visitors of the day also noted with satisfaction
the effective functioning of the CSPS and the primary and secondary establishments of Boala and Bonam.

The number of students at Boala school according to teacher Boureima Lallogo is 560. The 6th grade class has 66 students, said the headmaster of Armand Koala high school.

At the same time, a site to house the Boala Territorial Gendarmerie Brigade was identified.

The grievances of the respective local communities include, among others, the installation of a telecommunications infrastructure in Bonam, the allocation of an ambulance to the CSPS, the rehabilitation of all health and education services,

There is also the electrical connection of the said CSPS and the departmental high school of Boala and the food support of the resettled persons.

The people of Bonam insisted that henceforth all aid intended for IDPs should be channelled to the resettled beneficiaries to motivate the latter to return to their lands of origin.

The High Commissioner in his responses indicated that the file for the repair of th
e Bonam and Kolgosom bridges has been forwarded to the appropriate authorities.

According to him, the 35 tonnes of food from Boala will reach them once the population has designated a driver.

The commander of the Cheetah unit returned to the importance of respecting the security instructions issued.

‘Always keep your security officials informed of any planned demonstration or travel to avoid any inconvenience that may arise. They are there for you and they are human beings like you. I thank you for your resilience,’ he said.

And the High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga added that “We have seen first-hand the effectiveness of the functioning of the services and especially the resilience of the populations. I take this opportunity to pay a great tribute to the defense and security forces and the volunteers for the defense of the homeland for their efforts to reconquer our country.”

Mr. Conseiga invited internally displaced persons (IDPs) to return to their villages of origin so t
hat together they can undertake development actions.
