Ouagadougou: Thousands of excursionists stormed this Saturday, July 27, 2024, the Nahouri peak on the occasion of the 13th edition of the Nahouri 2024 excursion. An activity initiated for the benefit of the populations and public workers and private.

The Nahouri peak excursion consists of climbing to the top of the peak at your own pace and descending to the foot of the peak to commune and celebrate with family, a group of friends or with other communities.

The day began at Place Némaro de Pô on Saturday July 27, 2024, with the launch given by the high commissioner of the province of Nahouri, Auguste Kinda, to excursionists towards the Nahouri peak located around 21 km south of the city of Po.

Coming from the four corners of the country and neighboring Ghana, thousands of excursionists converged on the foot of the peak.

On site, the organizing committee pulled out all the stops to give a special character to the event.

According to the president of the organizing committee, Mahamoudou Adjawourabou, this
activity aims to practice sports, promote culture and strengthen community ties between the populations of Nahouri on one side and the other with other localities in Burkina and the Neighboring Ghana.

He indicated that this activity is taking place at a time when Burkina Faso is going through a double security and humanitarian crisis.

This is why Mr. Adjawourabou said he was convinced that culture and sport being very important aspects in strengthening social cohesion and living together will allow Burkina to overcome this evil.

Performance by local and national artists, traditional djongo dance, demonstration by bikers from Ouagadougou, shopping streets, tastings and moments of joy, were the highlights of this day which ended late at night.

For the sponsors of the day Rémi Tenkodogo and Rodrigue K. Sia, this activity must be continued.

For them, beyond the practice of sport and cultural promotion, it aims to strengthen social cohesion and community integration between the populations of Burkina and Ghan
a.

The 13th edition saw a strong mobilization of the Ghanaian community led by the traditional chief of Navrongo.

The latter indicated that sport and culture have no borders, which is what justified their strong presence among their neighbors and brothers in Burkina Faso.

For the president of the organizing committee, the objectives were largely achieved given the mobilization, the enthusiasm of the populations coming from the four corners of the country and Ghana around this activity and the brotherhood which reigned throughout the day.

Satisfaction also from the regional director in charge of Culture of the Center-South, Didier O. Yaméogo, who indicated that the activity should be encouraged because it falls within the objectives of the national internal tourism policy.

The Nahouri excursion is an initiative of the Nahouri excursion Association in partnership with the Dakola freight forwarders association.
