Nahouri/Academic and professional guidance: High school graduates made aware of the possibilities of study after their diplomas


Ouagadougou: The secretary general of the province of Nahouri, Sanfiénalé Joseph Sirima, chaired this Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in Pô, in the province of Nahouri, the launching ceremony of an information day, educational and professional guidance (JIOSP), for the benefit of high school graduates in the province.

The information, educational and professional guidance day (JIOSP) organized on Tuesday July 9, 2024 in Pô, was initiated by the provincial directorate of post-primary and secondary education of Nahouri.

Its objective is to help those admitted to the province of Nahouri to make useful and informed choices for their educational and university orientations.

It also aims to bring together professionals from several sectors of activity in Nahouri for direct exchanges with students and parents regarding access to higher education.

l director in charge of secondary education in Nahouri , Noélie Yonli/Tapsoba.

She added that the professional integration difficulties encountered by certain young people in our country, particularly those in Nahouri, can be explained by the mismatch between the profile of graduates and the job offers available.

Ms. Yonli explained that the fairly high failure rate and dropouts of students is sometimes due to poor orientation.

This is why she hoped that new high school graduates in the province would seize this opportunity to choose the training courses and job offers available based on training profiles.

The secretary general of the Nahouri province, Sanfiénalé Joseph Sirima, urged the winners to take ownership of this day and to follow with great interest the communications from guidance counselors in order to make reasonable choices that will allow them to continue their studies school and university, then a great career.

He also invited parents to accompany the winners, to listen to them and to take
their aspirations into account in order to enable them to make useful choices.

The day was punctuated by conferences on the possibilities of higher studies after the baccalaureate, the use of the Campus Faso online registration platform, the advantages of registration and technical and professional training and the transition between primary school and middle school.

The winners also welcomed the JIOSP initiative.

The province of Nahouri recorded 686 admissions to the Baccalaureate in all series, representing a success rate of 63.52% including 61.57% for girls and 64.08% for boys.
