The Governor of the Northern Region, Issouf Ouédraogo, officially launched the activities of the television “La Voix du Paysan TV” on Friday, October 25, 2024 in Ouahigouya. The ceremony took place during the days of homage to Dr. Bernard Lédéa Ouédraogo, on the occasion of the 7th edition organized from October 23 to 25, 2024 by the National Federation of Naam Groups (FNGN).

The 7th edition of the days of homage to Dr. Bernard Lédéa Ouédraogo reached its apotheosis on Friday, October 25 in the city of Naaba Kango.

These 72-hour days aimed to magnify and recall the actions of this illustrious son of the region, who devoted his entire life to defending the well-being of the rural world.

By creating the radio station La Voix du Paysan in 1996, the late Dr Bernard Lédéa Ouédraogo aimed to support the farming world in various development projects and programs through communication actions.

This October 25, 2024, in addition to the radio station La Voix du Paysan, it is the television channel called La Voix d
u Paysan TV, the first community television in the region, which has just officially opened its doors to the delight of the inhabitants of the Northern region.

For the president of the National Federation of Naam Groups, Noomwendé Joël Ouédraogo, ‘Papa Bernard Lédéa Ouédraogo was a man committed to the cause of the peasant world by all means.

By creating the television channel La Voix du Paysan TV today, we have decided to carry high the torch of papa’s actions. We have just realized the dreams of Papa Bernard Lédéa Ouédraogo and we are committed to remaining faithful to his ideals, to defending the cause of the peasant world.

“Today, we see the dedication of a son of the Northern region to the peasant world. This is a very satisfactory result for the region and for all of Burkina. The new television channel La Voix du Paysan TV is welcome, because it will contribute to strengthening social cohesion and living together.

“We congratulate all the actors for the efforts made in the creation of the very first
television in the Northern region. As for the workers, especially the journalists, I invite them to work with professionalism so that the information can contribute to building the nation,” said the governor of the region, Issouf Ouédraogo.

Commissioned in December 2023, La Voix du Paysan TV is now available on the TNT Bouquet, Channel 30, Frequency 546 MHz, UHF Band. Its slogan is ‘the television of the rural world’.
