French President Emmanuel Macron has accepted the resignation of the government of Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, indicates a press release from the Élysée.
The president nevertheless charged him with ‘handling current affairs until the appointment of a new government’.
Gabriel Attal resigned following his appointment as head of the parliamentary group of the presidential Renaissance party.
Thus, Gabriel Attal and 17 government ministers elected during the last legislative elections will be able to take part in the work of the new National Assembly, the first session of which will begin on July 18.
