Macky Sall appoints a new president of the Supreme Court 72 hours before the end of his mandate at the head of Senegal

Ouagadougou: Magistrate Abdoulaye Ndiaye was appointed First President of the Supreme Court, Friday, during the last meeting of the Superior Council of the Judiciary chaired by Macky Sall whose mandate ends on Tuesday 2 april.

Magistrate Abdoulaye Ndiaye was appointed to replace Ciré Aly Ba, who retired during the very last meeting of the Superior Council of the Judiciary chaired by Macky Sall.

Abdoulaye Ndiaye was previously President of the Supreme Court.

Oumar Gaye, President of the Chamber, also becomes the new Secretary General of the Supreme Court where Seynabou Ndiaye Diakhaté will occupy the position of First Advocate General from August 1, 2024.

During the CSM meeting, magistrate Henriette Diop Tall, previously on secondment to the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (ARCOP), was appointed President of the Financial Indictment Chamber of the Financial Judicial Pool at the Court of call from Dakar.

The former public prosecutor at the Guédiawaye high court, Amadou Seydi, becomes public prosecu
tor at the Financial Judicial Pool.

Magistrate Youssoupha Diop, previously president of the chamber at the Court of Appeal of Thiès, was appointed president of the college of investigating judges of the Financial Judicial Pool.
