Ouagadougou: Today’s newspapers report the seizure of fraudulent products and the weakening of road infrastructure by torrential rains in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso.
‘Heavenly rains in the Hauts-Bassins: several road infrastructures weakened’, announces the dean of the private daily newspapers L’Observateur Paalga on its front page.
During the nights of July 28 to 29, several roads in the Hauts-Bassins region were submerged by water, forcing the temporary cessation of all traffic, informs L’Observateur Paalga.
The newspaper l’Express du Faso reports that according to a press release from the national fire brigade of Burkina, ‘rainwater has cut national road number 1 (RN1) axis Ouaga-Bobo Dioulasso at Wolsama’.
For the Bobolais daily, the governor invites all road users to respect the instructions and special measures required by this situation.
From another perspective, they relayed the seizure of fraudulent products by the national anti-fraud coordination.
According to Le Pays poster, the fight against
smuggling in the great West has made it possible to intercept fraudulent products worth more than 100 million FCFA.
The newspaper reveals that, after months of investigation, at the end of July, agents of the Western Investigation and Research Brigade (BERO) neutralized the ‘white-collar delinquents’ who were trying to ‘introduce a whole load of contraband onto the market.
Observer Paalga, for his part, specifies that the seized products are composed, among others, of herbicides such as MEGA FORCE, IKOKADIGNE, CE PROPRE, TRIFORCE 110D and JAKODIA.
And L’Express du Faso adds that the National Anti-Fraud Coordinator, Dr Yves KAFANDO, calls for constant vigilance during this rainy period when unscrupulous sellers try to promote fraudulent products to farmers.
