The small category Karate tournament keeps its promise
Koupéla, (AIB)-The 3rd edition of the Koupéla small category Karate tournament was held on Sunday June 23, 2024 in Koupéla. Initiated by Ippon Karate Club of Koupéla, the 2024 edition was chaired by the high commissioner of the Kourittenga province, Aissata Angélina Traoré.
The conference room of the Koupéla Public Reading and Cultural Animation Center (CELPAC) vibrated on Sunday June 23, 2024, to the rhythm of demonstrations by competitors in the small category in Ippon Karate Koupéla Karate Club.
Master Iliassou Waongo, black belt, 4th Dan, boss of Ippon Karate Club of Koupéla, thanked all those who, directly or indirectly, contributed to the effective holding of the activity.
‘For this 3rd edition, the objectives have been achieved but we are not going to stop there because we are aiming far. I just ask the parents of the children to always trust us because I have been there for 24 years so I know my job and I am going to prove it,’ he said.

ding to Amed Rachid Koidima, 4th Dan black belt in Karate-Do, also a federal member of the organization at the level of the Burkinabé Karate Federation, many things have evolved following the children’s demonstrations.
‘Since the 1st edition until this 3rd edition, we have noticed that the level is only increasing. They must continue to redouble their efforts to be at the same national and prove their talent at the championships and receive medals and prizes just like the others. The Club Master has made a good start and I ask parents to be understanding,’ he said.
The sponsor of the activity, called Aimé Forage, continued that Karate will allow children to develop and become renowned competitors in Kourittenga.
For the provincial director of Sport and Leisure of Kourittenga, Sandaogo Yaogo, the club is doing a good job and congratulated Master Waongo for this great initiative.

n Club de Karate de Koupéla team for the work done.
‘I congratulate the initiators because this is a complete sport which trains man in his mental and physical integrity. I thank the Burkinabè Karate Federation which authorized and encouraged the holding of this competition,’ she concluded.
The winners of this 3rd edition of the small category Karate tournament were rewarded with medals, T-Shirts, trophies and mobile phones.
