Kourittenga/Koupèla Health District Week of Excellence: The Nakalbo CSPS distinguished

More than ten health facilities and specific services in the Koupèla health district saw their efforts rewarded on Saturday June 1, 2024 in Koupèla, as part of the 2nd edition of the week of excellence of the said district, placed under the theme ‘Insecurity and health challenges’. It was under the presidency of the High Commissioner of Kourittenga province, Aissata Angelina Traoré.

The Nakalbo health facility in the commune of Koupèla was named the best health and social promotion center (CSPS) in the Koupèla health district for the past year, on Saturday June 1, 2024 in Koupèla.

Sponsored by El Hadj Lezogo, the awards ceremony was held in the presence of His Majesty Naaba Yemdé le Kourit-Yir-Soaba, religious authorities, provincial and regional directors and other personalities.

This prize of excellence, awarded to the said health center, is to reward the exemplary efforts it provides to the happiness of the population. He receives a financial envelope of 100,000 CFA francs, medical technical equipment a
nd a certificate.

‘I am delighted to receive this award. I would like to express my deep gratitude to my superiors who followed my work with diligence and dedication when I was stationed at Nakalbo. This distinction motivates me to redouble my efforts and aim for new rewards in future editions,’ suggested the major of the CSPS of Nakalbo, Silamane Kafando.

The ophthalmology of the Medical Center with surgical antenna (CMA) of Koupèla won the first prize for the best unit of the CMA. She receives a financial package of 80,000 CFA francs, medical-technical equipment and a certificate.

For the health officer in ophthalmology at the CMA of Koupèla, Moussa Boureima Maïga, the secret of their success lies in commitment, dedication and constant availability towards patients.

‘We accomplished our mission with the utmost professionalism. This award that we receive today encourages us to persevere in our efforts and to surpass ourselves,’ he added.

The sponsor of this edition, El Hadj Lezogo, underlined the import
ance of the activity and expressed his satisfaction at having been able to contribute to it.

‘We are gathered today to address a subject of capital importance that affects each of us: insecurity and the health challenges that we face. Together, we can build a future where every individual has access to quality health care. Together, we can turn these challenges into opportunities and build a bright future for all,’ said Mr. Lezogo.

The Chief Medical Officer of the health district (MCD) of Koupèla, Dr Cheik Omar Sawadogo, was delighted with the success of the event marked by a strong mobilization.

While encouraging health workers to continue their efforts to provide quality care to the population, he pleaded with the authorities so that certain challenges encountered by the CMA be addressed.

‘We took this opportunity to plead in favor of strengthening qualified personnel, equipping health facilities with medical-technical equipment and renovating certain units, particularly emergency services,’ added Dr Ch
eik Omar Sawadogo. The High Commissioner of the Kourittenga province and patron of the ceremony, Aïssata Angelina Traoré, congratulated and encouraged the Chief Medical Officer of the Koupèla Health District and his staff for the initiative.

She also appealed to the population of the province to unite and mobilize for the proper functioning of the Koupèla Health District.

‘The support of the daughters and sons of the province, technical and financial partners is essential for us to fill the deficits mentioned. We remain open to dialogue in order to study the feasibility of these actions,’ indicated the High Commissioner.

Aïssata Angelina Traoré, praised the customary and religious authorities for their support in obtaining, from the populations, land large enough for the construction of the district hospital within the allotted time frame.
