The Metropolitan Archbishop, Mgr Gabriel Sayaogo, visited, on Monday June 24, 2024, the Notre Dame des Graces parish of Koupéla, as part of his parish tour.
The Metropolitan Archbishop of Koupéla, Mgr Gabriel Sayaogo, while touring the parishes, was welcomed on Monday June 24, 2024 by the Catholic faithful of the Notre Dame des Graces Parish of Koupéla.
A mass of thanksgiving was celebrated for this purpose, presided over by the Father Bishop, in the presence of priests, sisters, catechists and Catholic faithful.
A procession followed by a thanksgiving mass was at the heart of the celebration.
According to Mgr Gabriel Sayaogo, the tour is part of visits to the different parishes of the diocese to collect the concerns of the faithful in order to draw up an assessment addressed to Pope Francis.
‘Every bishop must prepare a report every 5 years,’ he said.
And to be able to accomplish this task, indicated the metropolitan archbishop, he had to travel to the different parishes of the diocese to see what they
are experiencing, good or bad, so that the report that will be made can reflect reality.
He added that the tour also aims to learn about the difficulties experienced by my faithful and strengthen their faith.
The priest of the Notre Dame des GrSces parish of Koupéla, also vicar general of the archdiocese, Abbot François de salle Kaboré, welcomed the initiative.
He confided that the tour carried out by the father bishop is an honor for the parish and for the Diocese.
‘We are truly honored and very happy to welcome our Father Bishop on tour today. He will also travel through the parish to discover the Christians, the CCBs, the different movements that exist there and immerse himself in the realities they experience.
Just like him, Kouraogo Edith, a faithful Catholic, was delighted to see the archbishop among the faithful.
‘We are really happy to welcome him with us today. He celebrated mass for us and it strengthens our faith. We give thanks to God and may the Lord God Almighty keep him always among us.
At the end of the thanksgiving mass, the catechists of the parish also celebrated their patronal feasts in communion with the Catholic faithful of the said parish.
