Koudougou: The National Center for University Works (CENOU) on Saturday in Koudougou, invited students residing in university campuses to place joking relationships and many other cultural values ??at the center of their relationships. , in order to avoid conflicts and crises in a university environment.

The CENOU, through its Central-West regional directorate, intends to use the cultural practice of joking kinship to raise awareness among students about solidarity, understanding and cohesion within them in university campuses.

According to the regional director of university works in the Center-West (DR-CROUK), Mahamoudou Yougbaré, the organization of the 72 hours of Koudougou university campuses, held from July 4 to 6, responds to this vision.

For him, the expected objective is to allow students to express their knowledge of Burkinabè culture, in particular the links existing between the various communities, joking relationships and other cultural riches.

With the theme: ‘Joking kinship, a factor of so
cial cohesion in our universities and university restaurants’, we wanted to invite our children to appropriate this rich ancestral heritage and to make it a tool in exchanges both in the city and at the campus, underlined Mr. Yougbaré.

At the end of the various performances by the students in tales, funny stories, traditional dances, etc., the DR indicated that the latter showed in a spirit of fair play that it is really necessary to advocate fraternity, solidarity and mutual aid in the various university campuses, especially in this difficult context that our dear homeland, Burkina Faso, is going through.

The Secretary General of CENOU, Richard Oubda, praised the students for the quality of the artistic productions related to the theme.

For him, the students appropriated the setting, in the sense that the performances rhymed well with the theme of the days.

Mr. Oubda also expressed the hope that joking relationships will produce positive effects for the benefit of the academic world in general and studen
ts in particular.

In addition to cultural activities, resident students of Koudougou university campuses conducted sports competitions, including men’s and women’s football.

The best in each discipline were awarded prizes during the winners’ evening held on Saturday evening in the Fasotex university campus. On this occasion, 21 prizes were awarded to the winners.

Also, 140 students benefited from the support of the Governor of the Center-West region to join the National Student Health Mutual of Burkina Faso (MUNASEB).

The town of Koudougou has four university campuses. These are the Ouédraogo, Zoundi, Sylvestre Pia and Fasotex university campuses.

According to data from the Central-West regional directorate of university works, 778 students are residing there this year.
