The High Commissioner of the Kossi province, Noufo Dembelé, chaired on Friday March 22, 2024 in Nouna, the first session of the Provincial Observatory for the Prevention and Management of Community Conflicts (OPPREGECC) of the Kossi.

Burkina Faso is facing unprecedented community conflicts. They are linked, among other things, to politics, religion, customary leadership and the exploitation of natural resources.

It is aware of this that Burkina Faso has created a national observatory for the prevention and management of community conflicts (ONAPREGECC) and its branches.

This observatory is intended to be an alert and monitoring structure, in order to be closer to the populations. These dismemberments exist, but the reality is quite different.

This session, organized on Friday March 22, 2024 in Nouna, aims to dissect and analyze the difficulties that hinder the proper functioning of these structures through communications and information on this observatory.

After these presentations, an action plan which
reflects the needs of the populations of Kossi as a whole, was developed with eight activities spread over a year with a budget of 14,200,000 CFA francs.

‘As a result of the implementation of this plan, the only tangible and acceptable result is the satisfaction of the resilient populations of Kossi,’ indicated the High Commissioner.

For Noufo Dembelé, this session is an overall plea to resolve the concerns of the moment to resolve and establish a climate of peace and security, a guarantee of sustainable development.
