Radio Notre Dame de l’Espérance de Kongoussi organized days of universal fraternity on June 22 and 23, 2024 in Kongoussi to promote social cohesion between different communities. The days were sponsored by Wenceslas Anselme WK Yoni, regional director of Communication and Media for the North Centre, and chaired by Karim Ouédraogo, secretary general of the Bam province representing the high commissioner.
It is under the theme: ‘Unity in diversity, it is wealth in fraternity’ that the Notre Dame de l’Espérance radio station in Kongoussi organized the said days, which consisted of the organization of a tournament of football and a fair.
The football match was played on June 22, 2024 in the evening and pitted the Yarcé team against that of Benda (2 to 1). It made it possible to bring together several spectators around their common ideal which is joking kinship.
The fair took place on June 23, 2024 all day. During this mini-fair, several exhibitors highlighted the cultural values ??of different communities.
The
director of the radio, Father Michel Sawadogo, welcomed the strong mobilization of the populations during the days.
‘What I saw this evening on the pitch reassures us that our objectives have been achieved. The two teams played in brotherhood and the mobilization was great. And in the end, everyone won,’ he noted.
The sponsor of the organization, Wenceslas Anselme WK Yoni, congratulated the radio for initiating such days. For him, the radio initiative will not only contribute to promoting good living together between different populations but above all to contribute enormously to the reconquest of the national territory through the federation of sons and daughters.
He invited the radio director to continue in the same dynamic by also broadcasting messages which will bring the populations closer together by leading them to unite around the interests of the Nation.
The representative of the High Commissioner, Karim Ouédraogo, welcomed this model of approach which combines tradition and modernity. ‘Referring
to the context in which we live, such initiatives strengthen good living together, social cohesion and contribute to bringing peace to Burkina Faso. This is why I thank those responsible for Notre Dame de l’Espérance radio and I invite them to continue this momentum,’ he declared after the football match.
As a reminder, the programs of Notre Dame de l’Espérance radio in Kongoussi were launched in January 2021. Since then, it has proven to be, in addition to the announcement of the Gospel, a means of education and training for his listeners.
