Komondjari: Great catch-up vaccination campaign from July 12 to 18

A major vaccination catch-up campaign called ‘Big Catch’ is taking place from July 12 to 18, 2024 in the Komondjari province and plans to reach 4,012 children aged 24 to 59 months, the AIB has learned.

On Friday, July 12, 2024, an advocacy meeting was held in the large meeting room of the Gayéri health district for the implementation of a week of major vaccination catch-up campaign called ‘Big Catch’.

This meeting initiated by the High Commissioner of the Komondjari province aimed to provide the necessary information to the leaders of the Komondjari province so that they can raise awareness among their populations for the success of this vaccination campaign.

This campaign covers the period from July 12 to 18, 2024 and extends throughout the provincial territory of Komondjari.

It concerns 4,012 children aged 24 to 59 months who have not received a single dose of vaccine or are not up to date with their vaccination.

The strategies used by vaccinators will be door to door, places of worship, Internally Dis
placed Persons (IDP) sites and fixed sites, particularly in fields, markets and health centers.

According to the communicator, this initiative will help strengthen the immunity of children against diseases preventable by vaccination, which is one of the safest and most effective public health measures to prevent morbidity and mortality associated with infectious diseases.
