Kénédougou/Sports and cultural activities: The André Dupont Children’s House in Orodara wins the trophy

The Head of Basic Education District (CCEB) of Orodara, Cyrille K. Somda, chaired on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the sporting and cultural activities of the year 2024. The House of childhood André Dupont de Orodara (MEADO) won the sports trophy.

The sporting and cultural activities for the year 2024 ended on Tuesday May 28, 2024 in Orodara on the theme: ‘Role of sports, culture and leisure in schools in the process of ending the crisis’.

In sport, it was the André Dupont of Orodara Children’s House (MEADO), which won the trophy and in culture, the school from sector 5 “A” placed first in ballet.

The event saw the participation of several schools from the city of Orodara in disciplines such as football (boys and girls), storytelling, playback, recitals, among others.

The football final pitted MEADO against school D, Tuesday May 28, 2024 on the field of school ”B”, with a final score after the penalty shootout of 5 goals to 4 in favor from MEADO who won the trophy and a financial package of 35,000 CFA francs,
1 set of jerseys and 2 balls.

School ‘D’ pocketed 30,000 CFA francs + 1 ball.

In women’s football, it was school C which beat Orodara school “A” by a score of 2 goals to O.

Concerning culture, the final took place on the morning of Friday May 24 at the popular Orodara hostel.

At the end of the competitions, the school from sector 5 ‘A’ took first place in ballet. That of sector 6 dominated in storytelling and theater.

ESAT excelled in recitals and playback and the Sector 1 school took first place in traditional dance.

According to the president of the Organizing Committee, the 2024 edition of sporting and cultural activities is a won bet despite the difficult security context in our country and the insufficient financial resources.

However, he suggested that the cultural prizes will be awarded on the occasion of the day of excellence of the Basic Education District (CEB).

The Head of the Orodara Basic Education District, Cyrille K. Somda, indicated that sport and culture contribute to the psychosocial
balance of education stakeholders.

This is why he expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all the partners who supported them in the organization of this activity.

Finally, Cyrille K. Somda expressed his thanks to the Organizing Committee for the work done in making this event a success.

The Godmother, Siata Sanogo and the godfathers Ousmane Hébié and Hermann Konaté, positively welcomed this noble initiative which aims to promote sport and culture at school.

They also thanked the initiators for involving them in the organization of this event.
